The storyline involves the Camp Rockers engaging in a musical contest in which only one camp can succeed against Camp Star.
CAMP ROCK 2 THE FINAL JAM FIRE MOVIE
Despite toe-tapping tunes and acting all right, as it progresses, the movie spurs out cliches. The sequel, however, is trying to give a run for their money to "High School Musical," "You Get Served," and "Step Up." The plot of the movie is deeply affected by unoriginality. The movie was quite original and entertaining, sadly. When it first came out in our view, Camp Rock tried to give "High School Musical" a run for its money. The trick is for the losing camp to close up shop as part of the bet. The lack of danger takes away the stakes. I don't understand the perceived danger from the competition. It would certainly be less raunchy but it could have been fun.
I keep picturing Wet Hot American Summer. Tess could be forced to go by her mother.
Everybody including Tess could return as counsellors to a new crop of rugrats. That's the natural progression that this sequel should embrace from the start. The only aspect I like is them being camp counsellors. As a sequel to a moderately successful Disney movie, this does what it's supposed to do. Mitchie accepts a challenge from Camp Star in a televised competition. Tess joins Camp Star as one of its leading performers. The kids volunteer to be camp counsellors. Star Records owner Axel Turner has opened high intensity Camp Star opposite Camp Rock and stole most of their staff. The Jonas Brothers bus falls into the water and they arrive with the chickens.
